Complementary & Alternative Medicine Consultations

There is so much written about complementary and alternative medicine that sometimes it can be difficult to decide which approach is safe and best for you, or you may be unsure of how to go about finding a registered and qualified complementary health practitioner?

A consultation may be the answer ...

At your consultation you will have a confidential holisitic assessment and discussion about which complementary therapies might be best for your needs.  I can carry out internet searches of credilble websites for the best available evidence and safety advice, and provide you with written information.  It may be that a therapy I suggest is not one I am able to offer but I will be able to point you in the right direction in order to help you find a practitioner.

Therapies

Head Massage: This is relaxing and gentle, using knowledge of massage together with the philosophies of Tibetan Medicine and the energetic channels of mind and body.  Used with or without essential oils it can help to reduce stress, tension and associated symptoms promoting peace and calm.

Reiki: This comes from the Japanese meaning Universal Energy  and although many cultures have been using the idea of energies and healing for thousands of years Reiki was formally developed in Japan in the early 20th century.  Central to this approach is the concept of universal life energy and that when this energy is diminised illness can arise.

Reiki is a way of healing - this does not mean cure but aims to restore a balance in wellbeing, working on physical, emotional and psycho-spiritual levels.  Benefits include alleviating stress, tension and associated symptoms, emotional and spiritual clarity, being intune with life processes, enhancing the benefits of other treatments and supporting the immune system.

A belief system is not necessary to receive this method of healing and it is non-invasive with the client remaining fully clothed throughout the session.  The practitioner places their hands gently, in a series of positions, on or over the body.
